A Look at “Big God, Little Devil” with Dr. Sean Tobin and Matt Lozano
In this thoughtful episode, Matt Lozano sits down with clinical psychologist, author, and deliverance minister Dr. Sean Tobin. Together they explore how a renewed understanding of God’s sovereignty transforms the way we approach healing and deliverance.
Dr. Tobin shares his remarkable faith journey—from years of atheism, to discerning priesthood, to discovering his calling as a psychologist integrating faith, healing, and deliverance. He offers an eye-opening account of a woman who experienced years of dramatic manifestations, and how a gentle, Spirit-led approach brought breakthrough where confrontation had not.
Matt and Sean unpack common pitfalls in deliverance ministry, including superstition, fear-based spirituality, and placing trust in formulas rather than in God’s love. They discuss Sean’s book Big God Little Devil, which reframes the enemy’s activity in light of God’s providence and invites believers into deeper confidence, childlike trust, and holistic healing.
The episode concludes with a prayerful reflection inspired by St. Thérèse, helping listeners rest in God’s arms and receive His grace in their own areas of struggle.
