Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father

Joy Hits Different When God Shows Up with Janet Lozano, Lisa Livezey, and Jacqueline Harper

Heart of the Father Season 5 Episode 13

Join Jacqueline, Janet, and Lisa for the third week of our Advent series as we explore something we’re all craving these days: real joy. With so much heaviness in the world, joy can feel distant or even confusing. So what is this kind of joy we’re meant to experience, and why can it feel so hard to hold onto?

In this episode, these three dig into the meaning of joy from a faith perspective, but also through personal stories that show what it looks like in real life. Janet provides several helpful definitions of joy – something that enables us to place confidence in God’s plan even through suffering and trials. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that resonates from being in the presence of Jesus, allowing us to not complain or be afraid amidst hard times. Joy is a gift from God that flows into our hearts – a sign of God being with us.

You’ll hear personal stories from Janet and Lisa of a time when joy showed up unexpectedly and how Jacqueline sees present-day joy as a hint at the heavenly joy we will know one day.

How do we cultivate joy in our lives? A purposeful change of heart posture can help, but ultimately it is a deep-seated response to being with the Lord. Janet offers practical advice  along with some ways that the Five Keys of Unbound tie in with experiencing greater joy.

“It brings me joy every time I minister to someone,” says Janet. She describes an Unbound session where the prayer recipient’s entire countenance changed after Unbound Ministry, which Jacqueline describes as the “edge of heaven.”

How can you reconnect with joy this week?
